SHIRLEY L. McGUIRE COMMUNITY CENTER
The Shirley L. McGuire Community Center is operated by the City of Norton. 
The Community Center is located in the same parking lot of the City Administration Building
at 4060 Columbia Woods Dr.
Reservations are made through the City’s Administration Office, located at 4060 Columbia Woods Drive.

 Note:  These fee amounts are subject to change at any time through the legislative process.

The Community Center Ballroom seats approximately 175 persons.  It contains 22 round (60") tables, and 4 rectangle tables (8’x2’).
(A)
    Fees for the use of  the large Ballroom shall be as follows:  (Per NCO 1064.02)
    (1)  Monday, 8:00 AM through Friday at 6:00 PM except City-observed holidays.
        (a)
      $125 per day for residents
        (b)
      $200 per day for non-residents

    (2)  Friday, after 6:00 PM, all day Saturday, all day Sunday (to Monday at 1:00 AM) except for City-observed holidays.
        (a)
      $225 per day for residents
        (b)
      $325 per day for non-residents

The Community Center Small room will seat a maximum of 35 persons.  It contains four  8'x 2' tables.
(B)   Fees for the use of the Small room shall be as follows:
    (1)
  Monday 8:00 AM through Friday at 6:00 PM, except City-observed holidays.
        (a)
      $ 75 per day for residents
        (b)
      $125 per day for non-residents 

    (2)     Friday after 6:00 PM, all day Saturday, all day Sunday (to Monday at 1 AM) except City-observed holidays.
        (a)
      $125 per day for residents
        (b)
      $175 per day for non-residents 

(C)     The building will be available for rental from 8:00 AM and will be vacated by 1:00 AM . 

(D)    There shall be no charge for City nonprofit and civic organizations or for any political functions, with exception of fund-raisers. 

(E)   Monies realized from the rentals go toward the purchase of furnishings for the building. 

(F)   A security deposit to guarantee the condition of the premises when used shall be posted with the City before any use, except as may be waived by City Administration in cases of hardship.

If a park facility is desired for reserved private use,

(Historical Note:  This park was named as a tribute to Mayor Edward R. Williams, who died on Memorial Day 1981, while delivering the annual Memorial Day Address.)
