Meeting Minutes are NOT VERBATIM.  In a professional opinion from Law Director Mike Lyons, minutes are defined by the Ohio Supreme Court as "a series of brief notes taken to provide a record of proceedings."  Minutes must provide adequate detail to allow the public to understand the thought behind a public body's decision.  It is not our intention, nor is it within our capability, to transcribe minutes word-for-word. 

Meeting audiotapes are made only to facilitate the accurate preparation of written minutes and may be erased once the written meeting minutes are approved by the established voting members of the meeting.  Meeting minutes will not be published on this website until after they have been approved.
